Michael joined the Office of the Ombudsman for United Nations Funds and Programmes in December 2019 and has previously worked in general service level positions at the UN Secretariat’s Department of Safety and Security, Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and Department of Management.  He holds a master’s degree in International Affairs with a concentration in conflict and security from The New School.  While at The New School he also participated in an international field program in South Africa interning at a media rights nonprofit Right2Know, and researched media affairs and modern security issues in post-apartheid South Africa. Michael also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in History from Temple University where he also studied abroad in Turkey researching classical history of the region.  He is orginally from New Jersey and has also participated in a hospitality and tourism internship in Eilat, Israel.  Michael’s work experience also includes several positions in communications with NGOs such as Doctors without Borders, the International Rescue Committee, and Grounded World, a small marketing startup.
