Nelima Okhoya

Ombudsman Specialist

Nelima Okhoya was first appointed to the function of voluntary staff mediator in 2003 in the IAEA. More recently, she piloted the Respect-At-Work informal mechanism and was subsequently nominated Respect-At-Work Focal Person in FAO, Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific. She has also served as Ethics and Protection against sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) Focal Person.

She has extensive experience with staff mediation, facilitating communication, negotiations, conflict management and resolution. She has provided support to staff on workplace grievances and complaints in Africa, Asia and the Pacific. Ms. Okhoya holds a Master of Science in Organisational Management and Development, a Diploma in International Affairs and Public Policy from New York University and graduate certificates from several ADR organisations. Ms. Okhoya is a member of the International Ombudsman Association.
