| 2002 | The Office of the UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS Ombudsperson starts its operations, replacing the voluntary Ombudsman Panel. The Administrator announces the establishment of the office to all UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS staff by global email, to which are attached the terms of reference. At the same time, the GA establishes the UN Ombudsman and the Secretary-General issues a bulletin promulgating the appointment and terms of reference of the Ombudsman (ST/SGB/2002/12). |
