Laila Ollapally (India)

Ms. Laila Ollapally is a full-time mediator and founder of CAMP Arbitration and Mediation Practice Private Limited, a pioneering private mediation initiative in Bangalore, India.

Laila began her mediation journey as the Founding Coordinator of the Bangalore Mediation Centre (BMC), the court-annexed program of the High Court of Karnataka. She brings into her mediations over three decades of legal practice in the Supreme Court of India, High Courts and Consumer Courts of Karnataka. Laila has been a Mediator since 2007 and has mediated several hundred cases across legal and commercial domains with a very high rate of settlement. She has been appointed by the Supreme Court of India to mediate high profile and sensitive disputes.

She is on the Mediation Panel of several international mediation organizations such as Singapore International Mediation Centre, Japan International Mediation Centre, Kyoto, and ADR Centre, Rome. She is an ambassador for Singapore International Mediation Centre and is a member of its Users Council. She is a certified mediator by the International Mediation Institute (IMI), Netherlands. She also serves on the advisory board of The Foundation for Sustainable Rule of Law Initiatives (FSRI) California where she has audited mediation programs set up by the High Court in the Indian States of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Punjab and Haryana.

She was a Member of the Sub-Committee constituted by the Supreme Court of India to prepare the National Mediation Training Manual and also co-authored the Bangalore Mediation Centre Training Manual. She has published widely in both national and international newspapers, law journals and other publications.

Laila is a Weinstein Fellow (2011) at the JAMS Foundation. She has been nominated in ‘Who’s Who Legal: Mediation 2019’, as one of the world’s leading practitioners in the field of mediation.
