Shahariar Sadat (Bangladesh)

Mr. Shahariar Sadat is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and an accredited mediator and master trainer on mediation. He is currently the Head of Programme of Human Rights and Legal Aid Services (HRLS) at BRAC. He has worked as in country mediator of the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman of the World Bank Group and a panel mediator for the Independent Redress mechanism of Green Climate Fund. He is associated with Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre as a panel mediator and master trainer. Shahariar was a partner and course coordinator of London College of Legal Studies (South), an institution which provides teaching support for qualifying law degree under English law. He had been an adjunct faculty of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and University of Dhaka. He was the Academic Coordinator and Research Manager of South Asian Institute of Advanced Legal and Human Rights Studies (SAILS) and played a key role of Academic Coordinator at the Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ), BRAC University.

He has primarily graduated in Economics from University of Dhaka and achieved Master’s in Social Science in Economics. Afterwards he graduated in Law from University of London and completed Master’s in Industrial and Employment Relations from ITCILO under University of Turin with distinction.

Shahariar is a native speaker of Bangla and is fluent in English.
