Ruslan Mirzayev (Azarbaijan)

Ruslan Mirzayev is a mediator and an attorney qualified in New York and Azerbaijan. He has extensive experience in alternative and international dispute resolution for more than 10 years, mostly in Azerbaijan. Ruslan also serves as a mediator at the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman  of the World Bank Group and is a mediator recommended in Azerbaijan by Mediation Europe-Asia network and a Senior Fellow of Weinstein International Foundation. He received prestigious Weinstein JAMS International Fellowship in 2017 and commendation from the Council of Europe (CEPEJ) for “extraordinary contributions to the development of ADR in Azerbaijan” in 2019.

Ruslan has acted as a lead/senior expert in mediation and ADR projects financed by the World Bank and European Union, and the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan. He also has experience in advising on development of ADR and mediation policy in Azerbaijan. Ruslan has been teaching alternative dispute resolution since 2008 and has been conducting mediation trainings since 2017.

In addition to numerous professional certificates, Ruslan holds LL.M. degrees from the George Washington University Law School and Stockholm University Law School, and an LL.B. degree from Baku State University.

Ruslan speaks Azerbaijani, English, Turkish, and Russian.
