Fernando Navarro-Sánchez is the Capacity Building and Conflict Resolution Consultant. He has worked as a mediator and a legal consultant for several years. He has experience as a speaker, writer and trainer in ADR in several countries. Fernando has acted as a co-mediator, a solo mediator and as a negotiation consultant in commercial, employment, family and community matters. He is certified by the Mexico City Courts System. Further, Fernando is co-founder of the Academia de Negociación an initiative to foster negotiation skills in Spanish for legal and other professionals.
Before joining the Office of the Ombudsman, Fernando worked for several years as a legal consultant for Mexico, Central and South America for a global solar energy company.
Fernando is an attorney by the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosi, in Mexico. He also holds an LL.M. in dispute resolution by the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine.
Fernando is a fluent English and French speaker, has conversational knowledge of Portuguese, and he is a native Spanish speaker.
He is a JAMS-Weinstein International Fellow (WIF), a fellow with the International Academy of Mediators (IAM) and a member of the International Mediation Institute’s (IMI) Independent Advisory Council.
