Ati Alipour is a New York-licensed attorney and mediator. She has a degree in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine Law School and an LLM degree from Cardozo School of Law in Intellectual Property. She is the recipient of Jacob Burns Medal for excellence in Mediation Clinic from Cardozo School of Law.

At the Office of the Ombudsman for United Nations Funds and Programmes, she serves visitors from UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNOPS and UN-Women in resolving their disputes in an amicable and informal manner. This includes a variety of methods such as ombuds work, conflict caching and mediation. Prior to joining the UN, Ati was a mediator in Manhattan Civil Court and Brooklyn Housing Court and is a certified mediator with the New York Peace Institute. She also has extensive experience as a practicing lawyer in different areas including international business law and intellectual property law. She handled variety of cross-border agreements in the Middle East and China. Ati has a specific interest in cross-cultural dialogue even when she handles a trade matter.
